(Updated) OCB RICHMOND CHAMPIONSHIPS – December 3rd, 2022Posted: October 17, 2022 Filed under: Uncategorized 2 Comments
Although I love CrossTraining, I have just competed with the PlantBuilt Vegan Strong Team at the Mr. America Sports Festival in Atlantic City, New Jersey. We had around 23 athletes competing in CrossFit, BodyBuilding and Powerlifting. We took home many first place awards and showed the world the plants have all the protein you need. This was my first time competing in Men’s Physique since 2013. I took home 2nd place in my category. This set a fire in me to try again and go for the gold!
I am officially taking the stage again on Saturday December 3rd at the OCB Richmond Championships in Hopewell, VA. I would love it it some folks could come out and support me! I am out to show that vegans can dominate on the bodybuilding stage. The event link is: https://www.facebook.com/events/281015234093329 I will be taking the stage between 12pm-2pm. Online Workout ClassesPosted: November 9, 2020 Filed under: Uncategorized 2 Comments
This class uses bodyweight mostly, but also I would like everyone to have one or two weighted implements. I suggest a backpack full of enough books to make it weight 15-20lbs, a kettlebell, or a set of dumbbells. You will also potentially use your living room furniture or a dining room chair. That should be all that’s needed. Classes are approximately an hour. These happen every week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 8am PST/11am EST. Classes are $5 each. email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for the links to join live or watch the recordings anytime and follow along.

Let’s start out with our 14 foot wide freestanding Rogue Infinity Rig. It has four squat racks, and lots of Pull Up Bars at various heights. We are a fully Rogue Outfitted Facility so expect to see this brand a lot! There is also a bare steel Speal Bar in the center. Attached is the Rogue Glute Ham Developer attached to a Wags & Weights Doghouse/3 sided Plyometric Box. The green line on the wall is 9 feet high and the white line above it is 10 feet high for wallball shots.
We have lots of open space for metabolic drills and Olympic Weightlifting.
We also have a Private Office for Consultations.
We have a Rogue Gun Rack with 3 Rogue Castro Bars (45 pounds), 3 Rogue Bella Bars (33 pounds), and 3 Rogue Technique Bars (15 pounds).
We have 10 Jump Ropes for people 5’2″-6’4″ tall and assorted Rogue Superbands on a Rogue Wall Rack of course.
The Rogue or Apollo Brand Kettle Bells are 9, 18, 26, 35, 44, 53, and 70 pounds.
We have 1,345 pounds worth of weights.
Here are a few more angles of the space.
We have 5 sets of TRX Suspension Trainers.
Ok, now a list of equipment on our equipment shelf:

We also have the Rogue Westside Butcher Sled. We have 3 smaller Rogue E35 sleds that work great for rope sled pulls.
Ok, on to the Dumbbell Rack. We have Rubber Hex Dumbells at 5-50 pounds, as well as 75 and 100 pounds.
Here is another view of this side of the gym. Of course we have a California flag because you know, Oakland. We have 20 cubbies for people to put their personal belongings when they come in.

New Year, New Name, NewEthicPosted: January 1, 2016 Filed under: Uncategorized Leave a comment
After four years, PlantFit has decided to evolve into NewEthic. We still stand for everything that built the PlantFit name, but for various reasons we have decided to kick off 2016 as NewEthic Strength & Conditioning. This could mean something different for each of us. For some, it’s a representation of a new way of living that includes mindfulness in all parts of life, using functional fitness to fuel your drive. For others it can mean creating a new ethic in fitness and in health. One that doesn’t create an elite or disordered view, one that can hold space for everyone who’s down to get super strong and happy in their skin.
It’s a new year, and this is the NewEthic!

Join us for PlantFit’s PR Party!
(November 16th to December 20th)
Registration is $20 for either challenge and the extended cutoff date is Wednesday, November 18th.
The Challenges are for who can make the most improvement in five weeks in:
Strength – Set your (P)ersonal (R)ecord for a 1 Rep Max Weight of Deadlift and Push Press (15 minutes to work up to your heaviest lift for Push Press, then a short break. Then 15 minutes to work up to your heaviest lift for Deadlift.)
Conditioning – PR for Max Reps of Back Squats at 75% Body Weight, Unbroken (can not set the bar down) and 5 minute AMRAP (as many reps as possible) of: 500 meter Row, AMRAP Burpees to 6″ Target with remainder of time.

In the comments section, please state which challenge you are signing up for, contact info, and which day and time is preferred for initial test which has to be between Monday, Nov. 16th and Saturday, Nov. 21st
All participants will receive discounts for 1 on 1 training as well as discounts for team group classes!
All who sign up will be assigned to one of two teams. Winning Team Donates Proceeds to Proyecto Huella: a grassroots movement towards supporting and generating vital conservation for sea turtles and social justice. Here is Tim with a baby sea turtle that P.H. saved from poachers and released.
The one person with the most progress from either team wins a mystery basket of awesome goodies and, of course, bragging rights!
On Nov 18th you will receive an email introduction. This will explain details such as which group you’ll be with, instructions for adding to the team Facebook group, what times/dates are available for team group workouts and an opportunity to schedule 1 on 1 training, as well as the test for your starting point.
If you’re new to PlantFit, don’t worry! We will schedule time for you to come in and learn the movements before your test, and remember: this challenge is about how much progress you can make on either your workout times, reps or amount of weight lifted rather than who can lift the most total weight so don’t worry about where you start.
To participate, you must be able to come to PlantFit (606 E. 11th St., Oakland, CA, 94606) for at least your start and finish tests. Sorry far away people!
Thanks all and we look forward to smashing some personal records with you!
